About Us:
The Manilow Music Project, founded by legendary artist Barry Manilow, is dedicated to bringing music education back into classrooms. We work to provide instruments, merit-based scholarships, and additional resources to music programs in need across the country.
Position Overview:
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector within the sphere of the music entertainment industry. You'll assist with researching music programs in schools nationwide, developing impactful stories about how music transforms young lives, and supporting our mission to make music education accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities:
● Conduct research on music programs in schools across the U.S. to identify needs and success stories.
● Assist in developing compelling narratives and stories that showcase the impact of music education on youth.
● Support the team in organizing and managing ongoing projects, including school outreach and donor engagement.
● Collaborate on content creation for social media, email newsletters, and promotional materials.
● Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to further the Project’s mission.
● Assist with administrative tasks related to non-profit operations as needed.
Qualifications:
● Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program (preferably in Nonprofit Management, Social Work Music, Communications, or a related field).
● Strong research and writing skills with the ability to craft engaging narratives.
● Passion for non-profit work, social impact and in music entertainment.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
